BelizeCan Will Be Governed by the Following Articles!

 

ARTICLE 1.- BelizeCan – A non-profit Organization is Established with The Council for Belizeans Abroad as the Diaspora Wing, and BelizeCan-Patriots as the Local wing on Belizean Soil.

ARTICLE 2.- The goal of the Council for Belizeans Abroad will be to promote strategies, create programs, collect proposals and recommendations from the communities, its members, its organizations and advisory bodies that contribute to improving the living standards of the Belizean communities abroad, and to implement the instructions issued by BelizeCan’s Executive Body.

ARTICLE 3.- The goal of BelizeCan-Patriots will be to promote strategies, create programs, collect proposals and recommendations from Local communities, its members, its organizations and advisory bodies that contribute to improving the living standards of the Belizean communities at home, and to implement the instructions issued by BelizeCan’s Executive Body.

ARTICLE 4.- The BelizeCan Executive Body will comprise of:

  •  The President of BelizeCan
  •  The CEO of BelizeCan-Patriots
  •  The CEO of the Council for Belizeans Abroad
  •  2 VPs from each District of Belize
  •  7 VPs from the US Diasporic
    • o 1 for the North Eastern US
    • o 1 for the North Western US
    • o 1 for South Eastern US
    • o 1 for South Western US
    • o 1 for California
    • o 1 for Illinois
    • o 1 for Florida
  •  1 VP for New York and Canada
  •  1 VP for the European Union Nations
  •  1 VP for the United Kingdom
  •  1 VP for the Caribbean
  •  1 VP for the Americas (Central and South) and Mexico


ARTICLE 5.- The Council for Belizeans Abroad will have the following attributes:

I. To promote both a reevaluation of the migratory phenomenon and the dignified treatment of Belizeans who live abroad;

II. To encourage the creation of meeting places and promote communication with and among the Belizean communities abroad;

III. To act as liaison in coordination with Belize’s diplomatic offices with the Belizean communities abroad;

IV. To establish adequate coordination with the state and municipal governments, institutions and organizations involved with assisting the Belizean communities abroad and with other related and complementary issues.

V. To design and promote mechanisms to implement programs and projects that pertain to the work of the Council for Belizeans Abroad;

VI. To organize and participate in seminars, conferences, symposiums, colloquia and public, private and academic congresses related to migration and issues involving Belizeans abroad;

VII. To gather and systemize proposals and recommendations for improving the social development of the Belizean communities abroad submitted by advisory boards made up of representatives from these communities, and

VIII. To support the mission of the BelizeCan-Patriots local organization in Belize in relation to Governmental policies, laws and Statutory Instruments affecting the local population.

ARTICLE 6.- The BelizeCan-Patriots Committee will have the following attributes:

I. To promote Belize’s Sovereignty and the dignified treatment of local Belizeans by the Government of Belize;

II. To be a watchdog Non-Governmental, Non-Profit Organization which promotes peaceful activism by Belizeans;

III. To encourage and promote volunteer activites and promote communication between the Government of Belize and local communities, working in coordination with BeliCorps Volunteer Organization of Belize;

IV. To empower Belizeans through communiqués notifying both the Local Population and the Diaspora of the Government’s activities and/or inactivities as it relates to Good Governance, Ethical and Transparent actions and Financial Transactions.

V. To design and promote mechanisms through internal boards of Subject Matter Experts; to implement programs and projects that pertain to the work of BelizeCan and Lobby the Belizean Government to take the appropriate actions in the Best Interest of the Majority of the People of Belize worldwide;

VI. To organize and participate in seminars, conferences, symposiums, colloquia and public, private and academic congresses related to Good Governance;

VII. To gather and systemize proposals and recommendations for improving the social development of Local Belizean communities submitted by advisory boards made up of representatives from these communities, and

VIII. To support the mission of the Council for Belizeans Abroad in relation to Governmental policies, laws and Statutory Instruments affecting the Diaspora.
