Consortium Donates School Supplies to Georgevile, Gales Point, Mahogany Heights & Crooked Tree

Consortium donates School Supplies

The Consortium of Belize informed the public on a press release on August 15th that “Back to School Supplies” were shipped to Belize destined for the communities of Georgevile, Gales Point, and Mahogany Heights. The supplies consist of bag packs, notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, sharpeners, crayons, and other miscellaneous school items which have an estimated retail value of $3,500 US.
Distribution of the school supplies in the Georgevile community are intended to take place on August 19th, followed closely by distributions in Gales Point and Mahogany Heights.

In addition, the Consortium membership in the San Diego Area also held a “Local Back to School Drive,” supplies which are intended to leave Los Angeles on August 29th 2011, destined for the Crooked Tree Government School. The donation has a total retail value of $700.

The collection and shipment of the school supplies was made possible by Mr. Douglas Griffith, the Association of Justice of the Peace, California Chapter and the Belize Association of Michigan in addition to Blue Lagoon and Little Belize Restaurants, Consulate of Belize in Los Angeles who partook as drop-off locations and Joseph Freight’s Services for transportation.
